im using an AMD.... DVD player worth it. DVD burner, not really. bluetooth on computer? i dont understand that concept.... and backlit keyboard is for gamers who sit in the dark lol. derno about vista and the battery...

It's strange that they say it's 3GB with 2 DIMMs.. do they mean 1GB + 2GB? Mismatched RAM means you won't get the dual-channel speed boost, but it's probably minor in comparison to having the additional 1GB, so it should be okay. 64-bit Windows is only really necessary if you have more than 3GB of RAM in there.

Do you mean slot-load DVD burner? Depends on whether or not you plan to burn DVDs.. it can be useful and it should be a standard. But if you don't see yourself burning any DVDs (data or video), then I guess it's not necessary. It's just weird imagining a computer coming without a DVD burner nowadays though.

BT is only necessary if you have a Bluetooth-capable PDA, printer, keyboard, mouse, etc. If you have none of these things and don't plan to get any, then it's not necessary.

Backlit keyboard is a nice touch, but not necessary.

6 or 9 cell battery depends on how much battery capacity you want. The 9-cell is probably going to add some weight and size though.
